Saturday Random Shooting
I went to Wanchai this afternoon with my best friend Jim since middle school. We are both crazy about photography. It’s the first time for me to see the famous Yellow House, Blue House, and Orange House in the Wanchai area (near Queen’s Road East). We first went through the Tai Yuen Street Open Market, then to the Blue House, and finally Pak Tai Temple. I was very happy with incant smoke photos towards the end.

Since late 2010, Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) offers a convenient alternative for those who travel to Tokyo. It’s only 20 – 30 minutes away from the city center. When Narita was the only option, travelers have to spend 1.5 – 2 hours. Nowadays I always schedule my Tokyo trip through Haneda. My personal record was 40 minutes from the time I land to the moment I checked into the hotel. I did without any rush … 10 minutes at immigration…
Another busy working day, I only took captured a few images on my way to office this morning. …
I woke up this morning with this beautiful window view of Tokyo Tower
I took some photos as I walked towards the office.
Self portrait from the reflection of office lobby door.
Thanks for your visit today!

I spent about 120 nights on the road a year. It’s a lot of miles, airports, and hotel nights. In the past 6 weeks, I have been on the road every week. Luckily I still like what I am doing and enjoy to be on the road.
My typical week starts on by jumping on an airplane on Monday morning. After landing in the destination city, I breez through immigration and custom, then get on the most efficient transportation (train in Tokyo, taxi in most other cities) to the…
To equip my new Olympus OM-D with a good lens, I finally picked a Leica certified glass from Panasonic today. Here are the first few testing photos that I’ve taken today. I am anxious to see the real difference (if any) of this lens with the real Leica Summilux 50 and will test them out this coming weekend.
I am very satisfied with this new lens. It develops superb sharpness and shallow depth of field with aperture wide open at…
I love to photograph my daughter. But she is an active girl and always on the move. In the past two years, I had only a handful of good photos capturing her in motion. I was desperate in finding a compact camera with fast auto focus and responsive shutter. The OM-D is the answer to my problem. I bought it last weekend.
Key features of this camera include:
1.44 million dot EVF, with a 120 fps refresh rate (100% field-of-view…
Hula is a dance form accompanied by chant (oli) or song (mele). It was developed in the Hawaiian Islands by the Polynesians who originally settled there. This dancer performed a dramatic fire dance at the dinner that I attended before I left Maui. The dancer was moving violently. Thanks to OM-D’s fast focus. I was able to capture these photos with decent clarity. Camera settings are ISO800, 1/125 sec, f1.8.…
After staying four nights in Maui, I am on my way back to Hong Kong today. Maui is not an easy place to get to. I had to fly from Hong Kong to Tokyo first, transit in Narita for over 5 hours, then take a 7 hours flight to Honolulu. After another 2 hours stop over, I had to take another flight to Maui. From the time I left home till checking into the hotel, it’s almost 24 hours. Today, I had to do this all over…
